BACKGROUND.

The EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD) has developed a draft "Evaluation of the Inhalation Carcinogenicity of Ethylene Oxide (Revised External Review Draft - August 2014)." An earlier version of the carcinogenicity assessment was peer reviewed by the SAB in 2007. ORD developed a July 2013 external review draft based on the SAB's 2007 recommendations. ORD revised the July 2013 draft based on public comments and developed the August 2014 revised external review draft. ORD has requested SAB peer review of the August 2014 revised external review draft.
