BACKGROUND.

EPA's Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics requested the Science Advisory Board review the preliminary risk assessment of Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) with special emphasis on: a) the use of serum data as a measure of internal dose; b) the use of serum levels from parental animals as a surrogate for levels in offspring; c) the use of pharmacokinetic information to estimate the internal dose in the pups; d) the use of the data to provide a range of possible MOEs;and e) other assumptions made by the Agency.
