BACKGROUND.

EPA’s Office of Research and Development requested that the SAB provide advice on the methodological approach used in EPA’s Regional Vulnerability Assessment (ReVA) Program. The goal of EPA’s ReVA Program is to develop tools and methods to estimate future ecosystem vulnerability and illustrate trade-offs associated with alternative environmental and economic policies. EPA asked the SAB to provide advice on improving the effectiveness of the ReVA web-based Environmental Decision Toolkit for communicating ecological risk and condition to risk managers.
