BACKGROUND.

EPA's Office of Research and Development and Office of Chief Financial Officer requested chartered SAB advice on the Agency’s future plans for science and research programs. After briefings on planned program investment levels for Fiscal Year 2007 for research programs conducted by EPA’s Office of Research and Development and science programs conducted in the National Program and Regional offices, funded by a number of EPA appropriations, the SAB provided advice designed to help plan and budget for future science and research investments.

SAB Chair, Dr. M. Granger Morgan, provided testimony before the Subcommittee on Environment, Technology and Standards Committee on Science, U.S. House of Representatives, on March 16, 2006 relating to the advice provided by the SAB.
