Committees and Membership

The EPA Administrator appoints members to the Chartered Council.
The SAB Staff annually requests nominations from the public for membership on the chartered Council.

The SAB Staff forms subcommittees and panels on technical topics related to the Council work, as needed, and has invited nominations from the public for membership on Council Subcommittees.

The SAB Staff Office has augmented the Council to address the following topic:

Characterizing Uncertainty in the Estimated Benefits of Reduced PM-Mortality using Expert Elicitation

Chartered Council members chair Council subcommittees.
Draft advisory reports prepared by subcommittees are transmitted to the chartered Council for discussion and deliberation. Reports are forwarded to EPA only if the chartered Council determines they are appropriate.
