BACKGROUND.

EPA's Office of Research and Development’s National Homeland Security Research Center (NHSRC) requested the Science Advisory Board to provide technical advice on the development of a preliminary incident-based Microbial Risk Assessment (MRA) Framework. The MRA Framework is intended to provide a consensus-based methodology for evaluating biological contaminants and establishing cleanup levels for biological contamination.. It would provide a template and decision tool for information gathering and decision support for risk assessment following a contamination incident.
