Dr. Daniel A. Vallero
Dr. Daniel Vallero is an environmental engineer who conducts research in chemical fate and transport of pollutants, especially those that are persistent and accumulate in the food chain. He received his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Duke University. He began working for EPA in 1976. He was a staff member of the Energy and Power Subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served as the technical advisor on global climate change issues. Dr. Vallero is an adjunct member of the engineering faculty at Duke University and the biology faculty at North Carolina Central University. Previously, he held adjunct faculty positions at the University of Missouri and Longview College (Missouri). He is the author of numerous journal and encyclopedia articles. In addition, he has written seven textbooks related to environmental chemistry, risk assessment and engineering.
