John Schaefer

John Schaefer is an environmental engineer with the EPA's Sectors Policies and Programs Division. During a career in environmental protection going back to 1991 he has worked on a variety of programs including Air Toxics Rule Development, Indoor Air Quality, Monitoring and Emission Factor Development as well as in Air Quality Permits and Training. His primary focus has been on the development of national emission standards for industries such as plastic and resins manufacturing, organic chemicals manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, metals processing and other industries. John has worked with the US EPA, the US Public Health Service and the US Navy on Environmental Issues. In 2004-2005 He served as a Naval Officer in Fallujah, Iraq were he gained experience in environmental and health issues in conflict zones. He has a degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and is currently working on a Master's Degree in Environmental and Computer Aided Engineering.

Note: There is no charge for a speaker. Travel is limited to (~50 miles) out of the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) area. All travel is up to the discretion of the speaker. Please submit requests at least 4 weeks in advance. Please limit requests to no more than two speakers per event.
