Todd Hawes works for the Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards/Geographic Strategies Group in EPA's Regional Haze Program. The goal of the program is to improve the visibility and scenic vistas in our nation's national parks and wilderness areas (such as the Grand Canyon and the Great Smoky Mountains) to pristine conditions, or the natural background visibility that existed before manmade impairment.
He has 18-years experience in air quality programs, including visibility and regional haze, dispersion modeling, air quality permitting, and US/International air quality agreements. He joined EPA in 2001 after working in consulting and for a State air quality agency. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1985 with a degree in Environmental Sciences.
