Tim Watkins

Timothy (Tim) H. Watkins is currently the acting Deputy National Program Director for the Air, Climate, and Energy research program in the US EPA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD). Prior this position, Tim served as the acting director of the Environmental Public Health Division (EPHD) in the ORD’s National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory (NHEERL) and as the deputy director of the Human Exposure and Atmospheric Sciences Division (HEASD) in the ORD’s National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL). Tim’s expertise and interests lie in the area of air pollution exposure assessment, including ambient air monitoring, personal monitoring, source apportionment, and air quality and exposure modeling. Tim has also supported some specific collaborative activities involving monitoring and modeling, including collaborative efforts between the EPA and the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to support the CDC’s Environmental Public Health Tracking program. Tim also currently serves as the co-chair of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the US-Canada Air Quality Committee. Tim has worked with the EPA since 1990. He received his MS in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his BA in Economics and Mathematics from Rollins College.
