Anthony B. DeAngelo, Phd
Dr. DeAngelo has been senior scientist with the Environmental Protection Agency for 23 years. He is well known for his research on the carcinogenesis of chemicals (disinfection by-products) formed during the purification of drinking water. His current research focuses on developing short-term assays to identify disinfection by-products and other drinking water contaminants that might pose a cancer risk to exposed populations. He has presented many lectures and demonstrations to area students, as well as mentored high school seniors in his laboratory. Dr. DeAngelo has been the recipient of EPA’s Outstanding Scientist Award in Biological Sciences.
Note: There is no charge for a speaker. Travel is limited to (~50 miles) out of the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) area. All travel is up to the discretion of the speaker. Please submit requests at least 4 weeks in advance. Please limit requests to no more than two speakers per event.
