This position is located in Region 9 Communities & Ecosystems Division, Environmental Review Office in San Francisco, CA.

The selectee may have to take up to 79 furlough hours (unpaid time) by September 30, 2013, including the designated furlough days, May 24, July 5 and August 30, 2013. The number of furlough hours the selectee has to take will be proportional to the selectee start date.

You will: Maintain files and tracking systems using office automation systems.
Maintain calendar and schedules appointments.
Composes outgoing correspondence, reports and memoranda and other written communications.
Use web-based system to arrange travel for assigned personnel.
Provides administrative guidance to division staff.

You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-06 level, you need to have at least one year of full time experience defined as experience in database entry ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and experience preparing travel authorizations and serving as timekeeper for an office.
To qualify for the GS-07 level, you need to have at least one year of full time experience defined as experience explaining administrative procedures, regulations and processes to a variety of staff and customers and experience in database entry ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Your answers to the on-line assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of administrative concepts, principles and practices of a large organization.
Ability to use web-based travel and time keeping systems, and use a wide variety of software application including Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook.
Ability to work collaboratively with administrative staff to elicit cooperations and teamwork.
Ability to communicate orally sufficient to support managers and employees on a variety of administrative topics.
Ability to communicate in writing.
Skilled in providing guidance to staff on procedures and practices.
You must meet time in grade requirements no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement. This position is designated as Low Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation.
