- October 21, 2005 | Hurricane Katrina/Rita - New Data Available
New data from environmental samples has been posted to EPA Website at http://www.epa.gov/katrina/testresults/ . Today's results include:
TAGA mobile laboratory data from Oct. 13 and Oct. 15. Pathogen data from surface waters, collected by EPA's research vessel OSV Bold from Sept. 27 through Oct. 1.
In response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, EPA is collecting environmental samples from the air, water and land to evaluate the impacts on the environment. To date, EPA has collected hundreds of samples. The Website is equipped with a searchable map to help people locate sample results in their neighborhood. The feature is available at http://www.epa.gov/enviro/katrina/ . Data from samples is posted to the EPA Website as soon as it has been quality assured. While dependent on the type of sample media and specific laboratory tests prescribed by our scientists, most data is available about 10 days after the sample is collected.
