The EPA has cancelled the public hearing originally scheduled for December 3, 2009, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Historic Kenton Firehouse.
The purpose of this hearing was to take public comment on EPA’s specific objections to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality’s (Oregon DEQ) proposed final National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit for the City of Portland, Oregon’s Columbia Boulevard Wastewater Treatment Plant (NPDES Permit No. 002690-5).
The hearing has been cancelled to allow EPA time to review additional information that will be submitted by the City of Portland and Oregon DEQ to address the objections. A new hearing date has not been scheduled. If a new hearing is needed, EPA will issue a public notice of that hearing 30 days prior to the hearing pursuant to the federal regulations at 40 CFR Section 124.10.
For additional information about EPA’s specific objections, contact Susan Poulsom, Environmental Engineer, EPA Region 10 at 206-553-6258
