Region 10 Grants Administration Unit

When working with EPA on your grant project, there are two offices you will be working with on a regular basis to make your project successful.

A program office (such as the Office of Water) is responsible for the technical side of your project. They provide the program-specific information you need to apply for assistance. If you apply, they will review your work plan for technical merit, review your proposed budget and, if they choose to award your grant, provide the funding you will need to carry out the work. During the project period, they will monitor to assure all program requirements are met. The EPA Project Officer is your main program office contact. His/Her name is listed on the grant award document. Links to various program offices are available via the EPA Region 10 home page.

The Grants Administration Unit is responsible for the administration of your grant. Before the grant award is made, your application, work plan and budget will be reviewed by grants administration staff for compliance with numerous administrative regulations and standards. After the award is made, and you have begun work on your project, your grant will be monitored for compliance with the various administrative terms and conditions that apply to your grant. Grants administrative staff will also process amendments to your grant agreement, if any are needed. When the grant period is over, grants administration staff will work with you to close out your grant. The name of the Grants Specialist assigned to your grant is listed on the grant award document, along with his/her contact information. Most importantly, the Grants Administration Unit is a valuable resource to you as a grant recipient for technical assistance as you administer your grant. The information offered here is an important part of that assistance.
