Laws & Regulations Links on this page may go outside the EPA.gov domain Major Environmental Laws The U.S. Code is the official record of all federal laws and contains the general and permanent laws of the United States. For the most recent laws you must turn to the uncompiled Public Laws as passed by Congress available through the Thomas Legislative Information Website. Cornell also has an overview of Environmental Law. Regulations: Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is available through the Government Publications Office (GPO) as a searchable database. The CFR is a codification of the rules published in the Federal Register by the Executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government, with environmental regulations contained mainly in Title 40. Federal Register, where regulations are published first, is also available from the GPO, from 1994 - 2007. Federal and State Government Regulation and Program References for Region 10
