Mission Statement

Compliance Assurance is an integral part of environmental protection to achieve cleaner air, purer water and better-protected land. Compliance with the nation's environmental laws is the goal: the assistance, incentive, monitoring, and enforcement tools are vital to encouraging governments, companies, and others who are regulated to meet their environmental obligations. Compliance activities and enforcement actions are organized around environmental problems and broad patterns of non-compliance as well as provisions of single statutes.

The Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE) shall lead the regional effort to achieve full compliance with federal environmental laws in EPA Region 10.

OCE will facilitate regional compliance and enforcement efforts by performing the following primary functions:
