The Clearinghouse is designed to show you a list of resources to assist you in planning environmental education into your curriculum. After the list is displayed, you can click on the title of the resource for more infomation about that item.

How can I broaden my search? Top

Your search results may have returned too few or no resources. You may have been too specific. Our operators select the keywords that best fits the resource as it is entered into the system. The search engine looks for information in a certain way. If you select an audience type, a region, a resource type, and a subject; the resource must have keywords that match any of the Audience Types AND any of the Audience Regions AND any of the Resource Types AND any of the Subjects.

To broaden the search, deselect some of the audience keywords or select more types of resources. If you don’t choose an audience, you will see all the resources for that type and subject.
If you select all the Resource Types, you will see all resources for that subject.
If you select all the Subjects, you will see all resources for that Resource Type and Audience.

Your search results may have returned too many resources. You may not have been specific enough. Our operators select the keywords that best fit the resource as it is entered into the system. The search engine looks for information in a certain way. If you select an audience type, a region, a resource type, and a subject; the resource must have keywords that match any of the Audience Types AND any of the Audience Regions AND any of the Resource Types AND any of the Subjects.

To narrow your search, select more keywords.
If you choose an audience Type, you will only see resources for that type.
If you choose an audience region, you will only see resources available in that region.
If you choose a resource type, you will see only that type of resource.
If you choose a subject, you will see resources only for that subject.
If you choose multiple subjects and select AND, you will see only resources that cover those specific subjects.

How do I get one of these resources? Top

Click on the resource title and you will see a detail of the resource and where you can request it from. It is best to try the contact person first, before calling the general organization phone number.

Are these resources available from the EPA? Top

No. Other teaching resources are available from EPA by calling (206) 553-1200 or toll free at 800-424-4EPA.

None of the keywords listed match what I am looking for. Top

We use a designated list of keywords to help you find resources. If that list does not include what you are
looking for, try the Search feature. With this option, you can type in any word and find clearinghouse resources (or organizations) with that word found in the title, description, keyword list or any other field.

If you type in environment, you will likely get hundreds of resources listed.
If you type in eagle you will see resources offered by the American Eagle Association as well as the resource which has eagle habitat in it's description.
If you type in Oregon you will see resources for Oregon residents, from Oregon State Agencies, with the word Oregon in the description or title, and any resource from an organiztion located on Oregon Street.
