Portland Harbor, Oregon-old
Welcome to the Portland Harbor Superfund EPA web page. Sediments in the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon are contaminated with many different hazardous substances, including heavy metals like mercury, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), dioxin/furans and pesticides. Portland Harbor was added to EPA’s National Priorities List in December 2000.
DEQ has clean up agreements with over fifty individual corporations to clean up sources of contamination. The DEQ Portland Harbor web site provides additional information on a source control strategy.
