RODs, ESDs & Proposed Plans
photo - The box includes a few towns along I-90Information gathered at the site is used to develop a Proposed Plan, which describes the various cleanup options under consideration and identifies the option EPA prefers. EPA invites community members to a public meeting to express their views and to discuss the plan with EPA officials. The Record of Decision (ROD) is a public document that explains which cleanup alternatives will be used to clean up a Superfund site. The ROD for sites listed on the NPL is created from information generated during the RI/FS.  Read more about Records of Decisions (RODs).  EPA can formally amend the ROD or can issue what is called an Explanation of Significant Differences (ESD). Additional information about how RODs may be modified.
