What is the Federal Green Challenge?
The Federal Green Challenge is a voluntary partnership program challenging federal partners to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 5% over a year’s time by managing their energy, transportation, waste, and water. Join your EPA Regional Office and other facilities in your area and sign up today.
To participate you will need to do 5 things:
- Set a goal of at least a 5% reduction in the next year in two of the four challenge focus areas. You can download this goals form (Microsoft Word, 113K) to help guide you. Find help with goal setting in: Energy | Transportation | Waste | Water
- Establish a baseline for 2006 or 2007 in each of your chosen target areas. Information on setting baselines in: Energy | Transportation | Waste | Water
- Work toward meeting your goals for at least 1 year. Suggestions for achieving these goals in: Energy | Transportation | Waste | Water
- Measure your results at year's end.
- Share your results with each other and the public and get recognized through through your EPA Regional Office’s recognition program.
