They are a Revolving Loan Fund coalition partner with the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RI EDC).
Current Status
RI DEM's Targeted Brownfields Assessment funding has been used at sites such as the Buttonwood Industrial Complex in Bristol, as well as Pontiac Enterprises and T.H. Baylis Company in Warwick. After the former chemical distributor and wholesaler, T.H. Baylis ceased operations, the property sat idle until DEM initiated a site assessment. The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (DOT) has identified the property as a potential location for an intermodal transportation facility. DOT has completed remedial design and is committed to completing cleanup of the site.
