Rulemakings by Effect: Small Entities (Businesses, Governments, and Not-for-Profit Organizations)

The Regulatory Flexibility Act (RFA) requires that agencies identify those rules that may have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities and therefore may require a Regulatory Flexibility Analysis. In addition, some agencies including EPA have chosen to identify additional regulatory actions that may have some adverse economic impact on small entities even though a Regulatory Flexibility Analysis may not be required. The term "small entities" includes small businesses, small governments, and small not-for-profits.  

The lists on this page describe whether a rulemaking is likely to 1) have any adverse economic impact on small entities even though a Regulatory Flexibility Analysis may not be required and/or 2) have significant adverse economic impacts on a substantial number of small entities.

On a separate web page, you also can see additional information about the effects of priority rulemakings on small governments (i.e., small governments are likely to be involved in implementation and small governments are likely to be regulated). The list includes all rulemakings in Reg DaRRT, except those that have been withdrawn or those that have been archived.
