Rulemakings by Phase: End of Development
Once a final rule is published, the rulemaking process is complete. To learn about a final rule:- Consult the rule itself, which can be found in its docket on Regulations.gov:
- Links to the Final Rules are provided on the rulemakings' profile pages for the first year after the Final Rule published. Access the profile pages from the Final Rule Published page.
- Links to Final Rules that published more than a year ago are accessible via our Archived Rulemakings page.
- Generally, once a final rule is published in the Federal Register, the requirements set forth in the rule are documented in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), which is a codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government. You can consult the CFR to learn about regulatory requirements that pertain to you.
