U.S. EPA ADMINISTRATOR BROWNER TO JOIN SENATOR WELLSTONE, CONGRESSMAN SABO, AND MAYOR SHARON SAYLES BELTON TO COMMEMORATE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF CLEAN WATER ACT IN MINNEAPOLIS
U.S. EPA Administrator Carol M. Browner will join U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone, U.S. Representative Martin Sabo, and Minneapolis Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton at the Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis, Minn., to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act on Friday, Oct. 17, 1997, at 11:00 a.m. Browner will give remarks on the nation’s progress in the first 25 years of the Clean Water Act in cleaning-up our rivers, lakes and streams, highlighting Minnesota’s success in cleaning up and restoring the Mississippi River. Browner will also discuss the Clinton Administration’s efforts to build on the progress made over the last 25 years and the work needed over the next 25 years to finish the job of ensuring every American access to clean, safe water.

Turn right and go to Merriam St. Turn right again. Cross the bridge onto Nicollet Island. Turn left onto Power St., which leads to Nicollet Island Pavilion.
