Clean Water Act Section 106, Wellhead
This project will continue and improve protection of water quality in watersheds, including surface and ground water, that serve as sources of drinking water in Washington State. Protection efforts will include providing publicly available source water assessment data and technical assistance, participating in local and regional aquifer and wellhead protection efforts, and integrating the results of source water assessments into the decision-making criteria of state and local programs. A major effort of the project will be providing source water assessment data in electronic format to other agencies, programs, and communities for use in pollution prevention programs, for field technical assistance or inspection efforts, and for development of aquifer protection ordinances or other source water protection efforts.
