Project Title & Description
Indian General Assistance Program
The recipient will conduct Paralytic Seafood Poisoning (PSP) testing to examine levels of toxins in the local subsistence clams on a monthly basis to reduce risks to human health. The Tribe will also resume baseline water quality sampling with an emphasis on school science department involvement. The Tribe will focus on developing an indoor air quality program to gather information and research on the topic, and educate community members via a culturally appropriate brochure for all households. The Tribe will disseminate information on the dangers of mercury in flourescent bulbs to reduce the risks to community health.
