Project Title & Description
Water Quality Management Planning
In Alaska, 205(j) grant funds are used to make the state's regulations and guidelines for the water quality standards (WQS) understandable, reasonable, scientifically defensible and accepted by the public and industry as being protective of designated uses. During the past grant period (FFY 2009) the Department completed several WQS regulatory project objectives. These include completing guidance documents for mixing zones and for residues which have been submitted to EPA for their review.
