The East Harlem Employment Service Inc will use stimulus funding to develop and implement a Job Training program to provide brownfields job training to residents of communities which have received EPA brownfields assessment and/or cleanup grants in Harlem, New York. "Brownfields" are properties whose expansion, redevelopment or reuse may be complicated by the presence of hazardous substances or other pollutants or contaminants, and training is necessary to address the contamination. These actions will benefit the grantee and the public through facilitating future cleanup and redevelopment of local properties and it will promote economic recovery through job creation and training.
