Project Title & Description
Advancing Environmental Education in Region 1
NEEEA is an association that serves as an umbrella organization for environmental education throughout the 6 New England states. Through capacity building each of the state partners are participating in the fulfillment of this grant program. NEEEA plans to strategically advance environmental education through capacity building in the region by supporting projects through state environmental literacy and strategic plans while requiring sub- awards to select priorities (capacity building, educational advancement, community projects, human health & the environment, career development, ee teaching skills) of this grant program. This program also addresses the agency priorities of Expanding the Conversation on Environmentalism & Working for Environmental Justice and Building Strong State & Tribal Partnerships. State EE associations convene to develop guidelines, processes and procedures for a sub-award grant program and insures that the request for proposals engages diverse stakeholders. At least 19 small grants of $5,000 or less are awarded with both program and agency priorities being identified.
