Project Title & Description
Targeted Lead Poisoning Prevention and Reduction
The goals of the project are to increase awareness of the impact that lead makes on the healthy development of children through education and environmental intervention; to monitor lead blood levels of children who are enrolled in the Head Start Program; to empower families and members of the community to advocate for their children's safety and create systems of change to address lead poisoning prevention; and to integrate housing revitalization projects with lead abatement or reduction activities to prevent exposure to lead and decrease the rates of lead poisoning in Milwaukee.
