Calumet Wetland and Upland Habitat Restoration
This project supports the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, pursuant to Public Law 111-88. Specifically this project will restore 45 acres of high quality dune and swale habitats in a southern Lake Michigan watershed that harbors significant biological diversity, including at least 6 listed species. Non-native plant species and aggressive native woody brush will be controlled. The removal of the invasive species will be followed by a return of natural physical processes.
