Project Title & Description
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION - Green Schools Teacher Training Workshops
Art From Scrap (AFS) will expand their Green Schools program by conducting six Organic Gardening and two Composting workshops for teachers in Santa Barbara County. Through organic gardening, they'll be able to teach their students nontoxic methods of pest control to protect creek and ocean water quality, reduce solid waste by composting, conserve soil & water through cover crops and mulch, and the dangers of common chemical pesticides and fertilizers that many adults rely on for every day gardening.
This assistance agreement provides full federal funding in the amount of $9,249. Total approved project cost is $13,909. Preaward costs have been approved back to October 1, 2008.
