Project Title & Description
LAKE MICHIGAN FORUM FACILITATION
The Lake Michigan Forum provides input on the Lake Michigan Lakewide Management Plan (LaMP) to U.S. Environment Protection Agency-Great Lakes National Program Office from representative stakeholders of the Lake Michigan Basin and the Forum seeks opportunities to foster ecosystem stewardship through multi-organizational initiatives and partnerships, looking for LaMP implementation opportunities beyond what is achieved through governmental efforts.
The Delta Institute will facilitate the Lake Michigan Forum. Over the next year, the Delta Institute will work with the Forum participants to implement the goals of the Lakewide Management Plan by initiating on-the-ground projects and hosting meetings throughout the basin on critical Lake Michigan issues. The Delta Institute will work with the Forum and stakeholders to continue the development of a ports-based environment quality project in Muskegon, Michigan and other Lake Michigan locales with ports, marinas, and other docking facilities.
