Project Title & Description
Environmental Workforce Development & Training
This project provides funding for Southeast Neighborhood Development, Inc. (SEND) to recruit, train, certify and place unemployed, underemployed or otherwise disadvantaged residents in environmental careers with skills needed to safely conduct remediation work at hazardous waste-contaminated sites. This award provides funding to SEND to train residents in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), Confined Space Entry, Environmental Technology and Sampling Procedures, Green Remediation Technologies, Lead Abatement and other various environmental training.
