Washington State's Wellhead and Source Water Protection Programs.
This project will continue and improve protection of water quality in wellhead and source water areas for public drinking water supplies. Washington State Department of Health collects and manages source water assessment data and provides this data, technical guidance, and assistance to local jurisdictions, water system purveyors, state and federal agencies, and the public for use in protecting drinking water sources. Source water data is used by other entities for pollution prevention planning and emergency response, adoption of best practices, and for land use and zoning decisions.
