Project Title & Description
Trailer Aerodynamics Program
This assistance agreement provides funding to Cascade Sierra Solutions under the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009. Cascade Sierra Solutions will use these funds to implement a program to subsidize the purchase and installation of aerodynamic technologies for 789 privately owned long-haul trailers based exclusively in New York and New Jersey. These stimulus funds will leverage the investment by the truck owners to upgrade their vehicles. This will improve air quality by reducing emissions of pollutants such as particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and greenhouse gases as well as conserving over 7 million gallons of diesel fuel over 10 years. This project will also create and/or preserve 64 manufacturing and installation jobs in the United States economy during 2009 and 2010.
