Water Quality Management Planning
Per your application request dated July 8, 2009, this grant is being awarded to provide funding for the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (CTDEP). CTDEP will use 60% of Section 604(b) funds within the department for aquifer planning activities involving Water Quality Standards, land use regulations, and outreach. CTDEP will pass through 40% of Section 604(b) funds to a regional entity for the purposes of watershed planning and management, and water quality assessment work as follows: (1) Evaluation of Causes and Impacts of Eutrophication in Lake Zoar. This project will also assist the CTDEP in development of a TMDL for Lake Zoar. (2) Byram Watershed Based Plan refinement. This funding will support the completion of this watershed based plan including refined load reduction calculations and BMP recommendations.
