Project Title & Description
Invasive knotweeds have largely invaded the Snoqualmie/Skykomish watershed, threatening water and habitat quality by spreading rapidly and displacing native riparian buffer vegetation. King County and its partners will work to comprehensively replace the knotweeds with native vegetation. Benefits will include: enhanced native plant communities; reduced water temperature; improved water quality; improved cover, resting and feeding opportunities; and, improved community stewardship. In addition, a framework will be developed for similar projects elsewhere in Puget Sound.
