Project Title & Description
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will be protecting New York City’s drinking water supply by supporting projects that help to evaluate the effectiveness of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection's watershed protection and remediation program. This will be accomplished by determining waterbody pollutant loads from various land uses, monitoring best management plan effectiveness, and educating students, teachers, volunteer monitors, and land use decision makers in the watershed. This project continues the New York City Watershed Enhanced Monitoring and Supply Source Protection Program which has been funded with SDWA grants in past years.
