The goal of the workplan is to assure that people served by public water systems receive drinking water that meets all applicable standards through effective treatment and source water protection. Continuing program implementation includes adopting rules at least as stringent as federal regulations, providing assistance to public water systems on regulatory requirements, conducting sanitary surveys, ensuring that monitoring and follow-up is conducted, and enforcing regulations.
