Project Title & Description
This agreement enables the Interstate Environmental Commission to carry out its Fiscal Year 2005 Water Pollution Control program to improve and maintain the quality of its rivers, lakes, streams and other waterbodies throughout the tri-state region (New Jersey-New York-Connecticut). Also included in the award amount is $48,788 for water quality monitoring to enhance the ongoing New York Harbor Contaminant Assessment and Reduction Project (CARP). The overall CARP project involves collecting and compiling data from a variety of sources, and the development and use of a mathematical model to aid in the reduction and elimination of in-place and ongoing sources of pollution to the harbor.
