Project Title & Description
Underground Storage Tanks Program
The federal Energy Policy Act of 2005 required that States receiving funding for Underground Storage Tank (UST) Program activities via the federal Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Trust Fund mechanism perform certain activities, under the portion of the new legislation designated as the Underground Storage Tank Compliance Act (USTCA). Among these new provisions, as well as the previous federal/state UST requirements, the State of Oregon is undertaking the following activities: 1) The State of Oregon will continue to coordinate efforts with the Environmental Protection Agency to obtain State Program Approval., 2) All new tank installations will be inspected and operating certificates will be issued. 3) Provide educational outreach and technical assistance to increase awareness and promote compliance. 4) Attend statewide, regional and national meetings to better understand current practices and protocols.
