2009 Puget Sound Tribal Implementation Project - Hood Canal/Strait of Juan de Fuca Assessment
The Point No Point Treaty Council will conduct an air photo assessment of riparian conditions along marine shorelines and selected major river corridors/floodplains of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Hood Canal sub-basins. The maps, GIS datasets, and analyses will inform tribes and partners in updating Shoreline Master Programs and Critical Area Ordinances; they will help refine salmon and nearshore habitat protection and landowner stewardship priorities; and the datasets will represent a baseline from which future status and trends in riparian conditions can be measured.
