Arlington County VA
Project will design and construct the restoration of 1,200 feet of the lower tidal portion of Four Mile Run, located in northern Virginia. The restoration work will include the removal of channel hardening--mixture of concrete, riprap and gabions--contouring the stream channel, adding a tidal bar and wetlands, and replanting native species of vegetation. The flood protection aspect of the stream will be maintained. This project is being jointly built with Alexandria, Virginia.
