Project Title & Description
Underground Storage Tanks SFY 2008
This grant provides support to the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) for the State's Underground Storage Tank (UST) Program to prevent releases of petroleum to the environment, from regulated tanks. These functions include the following: 1) maintaining the third-party inspection program by inspector audits, UST facility spot checks, and issuing tags for facilities in compliance; 2) Maintaining tank worker certification in conjunction with the Division of Occupational Licensing; 3) providing technical assistance to owners and operators of UST systems; 4) tracking the status of USTs and facilities; 5) Working towards the Implementation of the Energy Act Underground Storage Tank Compliance Act (USTCA) requirements.
