Project Title & Description
2005 Salmon Country Institute for Journalism/Natural Resources
Project will educate journalists about agriculture, forestry, and water quality so that they will be able to report more accurately and with more depth. Participants will study logging practices, watershed-restoration projects, dams, and agricultural operations on several field trips into coastal parts of Oregon, Washington, and Canada. They will talk with more than 40 experts who can provide knowledge on all aspects of environmental issues. Better journalism will expand and reinforce public understanding of these issues.
