Project Title & Description
2004 PA DEP Implementation
This grant agreement works toward reducing the nutrient load to the Chesapeake Bay via the PA portion of the Susquehanna and Potomac River Basins. The projects under this grant are divided into four sections involving: program management, evaluation and planning; education and research; technical assistance; and financial assistance. The first part of the projects provides funds for the PA DEP, TMDL development, and baseline monitoring. The purpose of the education and research program is to educate landowners and the public regarding the importance of nutrient management, erosion control and water quality management. The technical assistance program provides assistance to agricultural landowners to implement best management practices. The financial assistance program provides cost share funds to landowners to correct nutrient management problems on their farms.
