| 1:00 pm - 1:15 pm (EST) | Natural Gas STAR Program
Roger Fernandez, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
An overview of the Natural Gas STAR Program and its technical resources.
|
| 1:15 pm – 1:40 pm | Methane Savings from Compressors:
Compressors cause natural gas losses from fugitive emissions at several specific compressor related components. Compressor seal emissions contribute substantially to losses from reciprocating and centrifugal compressors in the natural gas industry. Replacing compressor rod packing on reciprocating compressors, and wet compressor seals with dry seals in centrifugal compressors has been found to greatly reduce methane emissions. This presentation outlines the technical and economic decision making process to replacing word rod packing rings, rods and seals on reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, and describes the potential operational benefits, reduced methane emissions, and cost savings achieved.
|
| 1:40 pm – 2:05 pm | Methane Savings with Vapor Recovery Units:
An overview of the application and operation of vapor recovery units for the reduction of methane emissions from transmission condensate tanks and other low pressure gas venting sources.
|
| 2:05 pm - 2:30 pm | Partner Experience in Methane Emission Mitigation:
Presentations by Natural Gas STAR Program Partners, on their approach and experience in implementing cost-effective methane emission reduction technologies. These Partner presentations will include successes and challenges in achieving their methane emission reductions and offer insight for obtaining operational and managerial support for these efforts.
