CARE - Green New Haven, Community CARE Initiative

Printer-friendly version

New Haven (pop. 123,626) is an urban and regional center adversely affected by air pollution (Ozone, PM), contaminated waters (non-point, local and upriver source) and land degradation (poor stewardship and tidal wetland incursion). To address these concerns, the City of New Haven adopted an environmental plan and has initiated implementation with an EPA-funded air toxics reduction program. Now, the City of New Haven is seeking CARE Priority Level II assistance to expand the existing air toxics initiative into a more comprehensive air, water and land stewardship program.
